Don’t You Just Love Sequencers – 2

Another Black Sequencer-based track! This one is all from my Eurorack set up. Features AJH Synths oscillators and filters (MiniMod and Sonic XV) plus Verbos Harmonic Oscillator. For one pass a sequential switch moves through three different oscillator/filter configurations. Outboard/plugin effects include Wellspring and Nightverb reverbs, Sound Toys EchoBoy, 112db’s Mikron Cascade and Delay and […]
Don’t You Just Love Sequencers?

Of the many sequencers that I own I am mainly using Erica Synths Black Sequencer – although for this track there were elements where I simply used the Arturia Keystep 37. Most sounds are from my Eurorack modular synth with additional parts from my latest acquisition – the Instruo Seashell Got quite carried away with […]
Instruo Seashell – wow!

Just wow! My first outing with the amazing analogue hybrid Instruo Seashell. Running Erica Synths Black Sequencer, several passes with the Seashell including triggering from Instruo Pocket Scion. Effects include Wellspring reverb, Mikron Delay, Sound Toys Spaceblender.
More Adventures with Instruo Pocket Scion

Instruo Pocket Scion here playing with Korg Kaoss Pad (with a little help from Sinevibes). This track also features (in no particular order) Modwave, Eurorack modular, SyntrxII, Moog Subharmonicon and Korg APR2600M. Fx include Wellspring, Nightverb, GRM Delay, Sound Toys Spaceblender and Echoboy. This time I was touching the Pocket Scion – no plants involved!
Meditation for Aeonium and synthesizers

My first outing with the Instruo Pocket Scion connected to an Aeonium succulent – Aeonium even sounds like a musical instrument! Here it is playing nicely with Mutable Insrtuments Rings in my modular rack plus Artutria Pigments and Waldorf Nave wavetable synth. Effects include Wellspring (of course!) and a touch of Sound Toys Spaceblender.
Folktronica – something a little different . . .

I had been working on some instrumentals based on Scottish folk tunes – just love pentatonic stuff! Then singer/ Songwriter Helen McCookerybook, with whom I had worked on The Cutty Wren heard these and volunteered to add vocals . . .but opted to sing these in Gaelic! So the genre ‘Synthecosse’ was born! The two […]
Lublin Pingable VCA

Really liking the Xaoc Devices Lublin pingable VCA. Here we have two passes of switched sequences, with the AJH/Tone Science Chance Delay and of coursed the wonderful Wellspring!
Patience And Shuffle The Cards – album reviews

Wonderful review from Neil Mason in Moonbuilding Weekly – Issue 74 (Substack): And also nice review in this month’s Electronic Sound: And here is a taster – the opening track:
Stone Soup

Often tracks begin with a simple sequence which only gradually takes form with the addition of other elements – the title refers to the folk tale where a traveller arrives in a village with no food but just a cooking pot and a stone. Villages intrigued as to what dish he would produce simply boiling […]
